Over the next couple weeks, we will look at each school facility in the District and focus on the facility needs that would be addressed with the 2022 zero-Tax-Increase School Improvement Bond, what we call our “Nuts and Bolts” Plan.
Next up is the Zemmer 8-9 Campus!
Like our Rolland-Warner 6-7 Campus, the Zemmer facility was renovated with funds derived from the last zero-tax-increase school improvement bond that passed in 2007. Because of this, Zemmer, like R-W, is not in line for any major projects were this bond to pass because it is one of our best facilities.
Here’s a look at what has been earmarked for Zemmer:

It’s a short list, to be sure, but we have long-overdue needs from an HVAC perspective at Zemmer that would be addressed. In addition, we have the PA system update that goes hand-in-hand with our safety and security upgrades. It doesn’t get talked about a lot, but public address systems are vital to any school safety plan, especially in the event of an active shooter.
Next up, we will outline bond projects slated for Lapeer High School and the Center for Innovation.
