CFI-West Demo Project: One Year in 90 Seconds

The demolition of the north and northeast sections of the CFI-West Campus is officially complete. The fences have been taken down and the soil graded out. This was a major bond-funded project that began last spring with the clearing out of interior spaces and hazardous material remediation.

Back in July, the excavators began taking down the old entry arches; once completed, the demolition project began in earnest.

This project shrinks the overall footprint of the facility by nearly half and allows the District to hold on to the more viable ports of the facility including the gym, auxiliary gym, south-end classrooms and shop spaces, etc. The old footprint left behind will become green space.

In addition, there are also plans to make improvements to the facade of the facility which has become a major eyesore over the years.
