Today, a new RTU (rooftop unit) was installed on the roof of what will be the new auditorium lobby at Lapeer High School.
An RTU is a self-contained, all-in-one HVAC system that provides heating, cooling, and ventilation for commercial buildings by housing all components, such as the compressor, coils, fans, and heating elements, within a single weatherproof unit placed on the roof. Air is pulled into the RTU through an air hood, filtered, then heated or cooled before being distributed throughout the building via a ductwork system.
